Vintage blue jewelry box refinished, shabby cottage chic, brand new interior, Romantic dainty lace, the perfect gift.. Lovely shades of blue and white adorn this one of a kind refinished jewelry box. A lovely expression of sentiment will make her feel loved every time she places her jewels inside for safe keeping. The solid wood body has been stripped, sanded, and painted with the finest chalk paints (inside and out), layers of blue and white. It is sealed and aged with light distressing for a vintage feel, and touched with a gold gilding in all the right places. The back side is also painted to ensure it looks beautiful in front of a mirror. The lid shows a gorgeous blue floral pattern, light airy bouquets. Lifting the top open, you see a wonderfully decorated interior, a mix of shabby chic and french country. The interior of the lid has a decoupage of blue and white stripes and a sweet round mirror edged with delicate lace. The inner corners hold pretty lace flowers with faux pearl centers. The whole inside is framed with tiny faux pearls, adorable. Below you see nice storage, 5 ring rolls will cradle your favorite gems and the compartment to the left is spacious enough for your necklaces, pins, or what have you. The lining is brand new, very soft sky blue color. At the bottom of the chest is a large drawer adorned with the original hardware, updated with golden paints and a pretty sparkling light blue piece in the center. When slid open, you see the drawer is lined with matching fabric and has lots of room for your treasures. There are lovely metal pieces that wrap around the body in the center. They are original to the jewelry box, I believe in many old sea chests they were added to give the piece strength for a long voyage. I love the character it gives this pretty little box, much like a teasure chest. There are also wooden feet, which give it a lift off the table. I added felt to protect your furniture.
