Antique late 19thc original Tramp Art carved Jewellery / sewing Box. Beautifully and very intricately chip / notched carved. This piece designed with small draws compartments to the front and with crossed carved sections to the sides and back. The top and back has its original worn cloth velvet inset panels and inside a very pretty original shield shaped faceted mirror with a rich cranberry colour velvet lined interior. This piece is a very good example of this type of work. Tramp art A folk art which began circa 1865 /1930s salvaged materials which were worked into art pieces. Size 29 cm length x 26 cm high x depth 21 cm approx. Condition in lovely condition, with no damage to the carving overall. A remarkable original piece for the collector.
