LITERALLY ONE OF A KIND Handcrafted EXOTIC Wood Jewelry/Treasure Chest/Box With mounted hand held mirror. Was handcrafted by Seattle artisan in 1980 of various different woods (Koa, walnut, teak, East Indian rosewood, tiger wood, and others – not certain of names). Mirror is intended to be held; handle is the shape of a whales tail. The chest can either sit atop a dresser or can be wall mounted (see pictures of back of chest). Entire box is made of wood (no glued joints). I believe there are small pins in wooden hinges as the hinges posed a challenge initially to make. Artisans initials are carved inconspicuously on bottom right and are covered by bottom drawer. Back of mirror has faint inscription Wendy 1980 along the edge of whales tail. Remarkable piece of art.
