Antique Sterling Silver and Wood Cigarette Trinket Jewelry Box. Looks like this is a wood box with sterling over it and lined with material or paper? It is engraved Edward Glasgow on the silver part of the bottom of the case. The lid has 3 marks on the side, somewhat faded but I think they are. C in an oval with points. A lion facing left forward. A capital letter O. The main section of the box on the side has 4 marks, also somewhat faded but I think they are. Something that looks like an animal face. From the research I did on the internet, I think W. C means William Comyns and the lion means sterling silver and the animal face is London. Look at the photos and decide. 5 1/2″ x 3 1/2″ x 1 7/8. Condition: Looks good to me for being so old. Has some very tiny dents, including the lid front left bottom and on the side with the hallmarks the lid top right corner and one the other side the lid top left corner; bottom wood has one large crack; lining missing in a few spots. Also when looking at the box from the side, it looks like the silver is slightly loose from the box in the right front. Check the photos for condition. Needs a good polishing. Photos – I tried my best but many of the dark areas in the photos are my reflection or the iphone. If you want more photos or have questions, let me know. I think the pictures make the box look worse than it really is with the dark shadows and reflections.
