This is a stunning English Antique Figured Walnut Box with mother of pearl cartouche and escutcheon, circa mid-late Victorian period. The box has wonderful figuring and patina along with very striking marquetey banding to the edges of the box. Overall the box is in an exceptionally good condition considering its age. It has no missing or loose veneer and no repairs. The interior has been lined with a luxurious, plush green material. The underside of the box has also been lined. The outside measurements of the box are approx; 10″ x 6.75″ x 5 This box comes with a working lock and key and solid stop hinges. The lid closes perfectly.
