












Description : A large, antique chip-carved Tramp Art Box, maker unknown, early-1900s. Cedar or pine reclaimed wood box; hinged lid opens to reveal two painted rectangular compartments below lift panels. Decorated with multilayer Geometrics on the body with mirrored inserts and velvet accents. Exterior is stained in a dark wood tone. Underside of lid is built-up and unfinished. Superb attention to detail throughout; a wonderful example of early American Folk Art. The photos are probably the best description for this Keeper. Exterior and interior with honest wear, losses, make-do repairs, additions, etc. Moderate dust/soiling noted throughout; it has not been cleaned. See photos for complete details and close-ups.
