Antique Victorian Mahogany Wood Box Silk Lined Tray Sewing Jewellery Wooden. Mother of Pearl escutcheons on top and around the key hole. Its nice that this still has its original tray which has partitions with green silk lids and a couple of mother of pearl buttons – the lid to the box also has green silk lining. The insert seems to made from a type of cardboard / board – the mother of pearl buttons do not match. But its lovely to find the original fittings in a box – they are usually stripped away and missing. Measures 29cm x 21cm and stands 13cm tall. Overall the box is in good condition – the mother of pearl on th top escutcheon is missing a corner section – see photo and there are a few age related scratches – also can be seen on photo near top escutcheon.
