THIS IS A GEORGE III (REGENCY PERIOD). HIGHLY FIGURED ROSEWOOD BRASSBOUND BOX FEATURING. A STYLISED BRASS RECESSED HANDLE. THE BOX HAS CONTRASTING RADIUSED EDGES IN A PALER WOOD. A REALLY NICE PERIOD PIECE. (approx 206 years old). HE KEY ESCUTCHEON IS DAISY SHAPED IN BRASS. THE EXTERIOR OF THE BOX IS WITHOUT DAMAGE, CRACKS, CHIPS OR MARKS. THE LID HAS A REMOVABLE FRAMED MIRROR. THERE ARE TWO BURGUNDY TOOLED LEATHER LIDS. ALTHOUGH AN UNUSUAL FEATURE THEY ARE ORIGINAL TO THE BOX. WHEN OPENED, THEY REVEAL KID MANICURE TOOL POSITIONS OR FOR OTHER SIMILAR ITEMS. THERE ARE 8 COMPARTMENTS OF VARIOUS SIZES WHICH HAVE BEEN LINED IN. WINE PASTEL PAPER TO SUIT THE GEORGIAN PERIOD. THE HINGES ARE ORIGINAL. ORIGINAL LOCK WITH REPLACEMENT KEY – FULLY WORKING. To enable you to preserve your treasures and/or secrets whether it be jewellery, documents.
