In WONDERFUL restored condition. Apart from an old small veneer nibble repair just above the keyhole there is no missing or replaced veneer. The box is veneered in figured mahogany to each side and back, with mahogany and ebony panels to the top and front. Inlaid with mother of pearl and pewter stringing to the top and front. Further inlaid with a mother of pearl, ebony and pewter stringing to the central cartouche and keyhole escutcheon. The keyhole escutcheon mother of pearl is later replacement. No missing mother of pearl. Displaying truly wonderful colour. Difficult to appreciate until you see it in front of you. IM PRETTY SURE THAT YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED. Box retains the original lock, top catch and hinges. Supplied with a silk tassel and Victorian key that sadly does not lock the box and is supplied and described as being decorative only. YOU ONLY GET THIS TYPE OF QUALITY FROM US. Interior that boasts a later wooden tray finished to a superb standard that compliments. This has been relined in expensive. Material of the highest quality. The same as the interior of the box. All the added dividers within the tray can easily be repositioned or removed if desired. The tray can hold many rings in an upright position. Underneath the additional tray and beneath the base of the box has also been lined in velvet to stop any scratches to other surfaces.
