Its terrific to have this little piece of history that connects the original owner of the box. The fixed gold tooled backing board inside the lid is original to the box and in good condition with only minor wear. The centre we have lined in velvet. Inlaid with mother of pearl and pewter stringing to the central cartouche and keyhole escutcheon. In WONDERFUL restored condition. One very small veneer repair to the back bottom and right bottom edge both blend well and are absolutely nothing. The box is a stunning example for the period. The side draw is opened by removing the original solid brass rod on the right inner edge. The draw is sprung loaded and closes and locks in position perfectly. The pictures really do not do it justice. The figured veneer is just superb. IM PRETTY SURE THAT YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED. All our boxes come with after care instruction.
