THIS IS WILLIAM IV ROSEWOOD BOX. WITH MOTHER-OF-PEARL ROUNDELS AND PEWTER STRINGING. THE EXTERNAL FINISH (POLISH & PATINA) IS COMPLETELY ORIGINAL. CIRCA 1830 – 1835. (approx 188 – 183 years old). THERE IS A SQUARE MOTHER-OF-PEARL CARTOUCHE. THE KEY ESCUTCHEON IS IN THE SAME FORMAT. THE COMPARTMENTALISED LIFT-OUT TRAY IS A REPLACEMENT AND THE TRAY AND BOX. HAVE BEEN LINED IN GEORGIAN RED ART PAPER. THE LID INTERIOR IS PADDED AND COVERED IN CONTRASTING RED CRUSHED VELVET. THE HINGES ARE ORIGINAL. ORIGINAL LOCK WITH REPLACEMENT KEY – FULLY WORKING. To enable you to preserve your treasures and/or secrets whether it be jewellery, documents. Specimens or anything of sentimental value.
