











A fine Georgian/William IV period (C1830) sarcophagus shaped rosewood jewel/vanity box with inlaid mother of pearl and pewter stringing as was the fashion of the day, having a gadrooned plinth feature to the lid with a central rectangular shaped mother of pearl inlay, the lock escutcheon is also in mother of pearl and retains its fully working original lock along with a tasseled antique bow key. The box also has two drop ring carry handles original brass stop hinges and stands on four pad feet. Inside the beautiful interior is in shades of turquoise blue, featuring a lift out tray with various divided jewellery compartments including a turquoise satin padded lidded section with pearlised handle and a slot for holding rings etc. Below the tray is a further generous storage area also in turquoise. The under lid liner is trimmed in spectacular deep padded turquoise blue satin with silver studding and trimmed with complimentary turquoise braid. This beautiful antique box has been professionally and sympathetically restored to a high standard and with a newly refurbished interior is now ideal for your jewellery or other precious keepsakes.
