












Description : A antique chip-carved Tramp Art Box, maker unknown, early-1900s. Cedar or pine reclaimed wood box; hinged and handled lid opens to reveal an unfinished rectangular compartment below. Decorated with multilayer Geometrics on the body with brass star accents. Exterior is stained in a dark wood tone. This box has been fashioned for a locking mechanism, but it was never added. Superb attention to detail throughout; a wonderful, well-preserved example of early American Folk Art. The photos are probably the best description for this Keeper. Condition : Exterior with high point wear, minor losses, etc. The interior (right side) hinge is missing two flathead screws. Moderate dust/soiling noted throughout; it has not been cleaned.
