Restored and French polished (traditional method), features: All original hardware; brass stop hinges, reconditioned screws, lock and catch which is fully operational and comes complete with a replacement key and a new tassel. Advice sheet on caring for your antique box is included. Bottom (underside) is covered in blue baize so wont mark polished surfaces. One tiny repair veneer repair right side, bottom right; otherwise all is as when made over 120 years ago; sympathetically restored bringing the box back to its former glory. Internally converted for use as a jewellery box and fully lined in quality green cotton velvet, boasts a handmade cherry wood tray which projects above the base of the box utilizing the lid space and includes 10 compartments and a double row of ring holders (made by myself- a qualified Furniture Maker to exacting standards).
