Have nothing in your houses that you do not consider to be beautiful or useful. French Antique Nap III Ladies Lined Glove/Fan/Jewelry Box W/ Working Lock Antique Boxes. An elegant and beautifully crafted ladies fan/glove box from the Napoleon III period the 1850s 1870s made in speckled thuya wood (according to a specialist who examined it). Larger than gentlemens glove boxes (for fans and long evening gloves), it has an elaborate cartouche on the top lid with tiny mother-of-pearl inlays. The cartouche is complete and in perfect condition. The boxs interior has a tufted water green silk lining and its 70 original tiny silk covered buttons and is in very good condition. There are a couple of very pale lighter spots, but nothing to detract from the boxs elegance. It measures 12 3/8 inches wide, 4 1/8 inches deep and stands 3 ΒΌ inches high. These are exterior measures. The box is in very good condition with its original vanish finish. There are a couple of tiny spots in the veneer on the back sides that were expertly repaired and only found by holding up in sunlight. It comes from an estate sale in Paris and is one of the handsomest boxes found in a long time. Please read before purchasing. Vintage and antique objects have lived and been used and because of that, they sometimes show it. The condition of the object is described as accurately as possible, including its character flaws. But that is really part of the attraction and enjoyment of an old piece. Please verify the package upon receipt and inform the postal authorities of any damage. The item must be sent back in the same condition and in the same packaging.
