Circa 1890 to 1910 Small Tramp Art Jewelry Box. Welcome to Auntie Q’s! Auntie Q’s specializes in estates and items that are fresh to the market! Circa 1890 to 1910 Small Tramp Art Jewelry Box! I had the distinct pleasure of being involved in the Judd Estate of Fairfield, Connecticut. Judd family descendants have a rich history in the United States starting with the thirteen original colonies. The Judd house in Fairfield was built in 1895 and was the family home of three generations, William Stanley Judd (Grandfather), Lewis Stanley Judd (Father), and Lewis Stanley Judd, Jr. Both William Stanley Judd and his son Lewis were members of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America. William owned a woodworking shop and I believe Lewis apprenticed and worked there. Lewis served in WWI, Company A, 212th Engineers. The last family residences of the house, Lewis Stanley Judd, Jr. And his wife both worked for Remington Arms, the wife for over 45 years having started right out of High School! A significent part of the value of this wonderful box is its origin and provenance! William Stanley Judd owned and ran a woodworking business. His son, Lewis Stanley Sr. Worked with him in the shop. The barn was filled with wood working tools and equipment including one of the table “strap” driven tools from the shop. The house had several wonderful pieces of furniture that was hand made by either him or his son. It definitely was treasured and kept through the 3 generations! The jewelry box is approximately 6″ x 4″ x 3. The inside is lined with felt and has a fitted ring holder. It is in excellent condition. Please super size the listing images to view the overall condition in detail! A Spectacular Circa 1890 to 1910 Small Tramp Art Jewelry Box! Thank you for visiting Auntie Q’s!
