This is one of the best carved jewelry case I have had in several years. The box is large at nearly 15″ widest, 9″ deep, and 6 high and is heavy and solid. High quality and with a special hidden drawer. There is one spot on the interior bottom lining where you push to depress the spring-loaded latch for the drawer built into the base of the box. The interior lining is the original, (no odor or stain) and does show some minor age. The lid has a lovely old hand painted mirror that is clear and usable. Circa 1900 I would say. Very good to excellent condition for age and type. Note the interesting sculpted shape of the piece; not just a square box. The lock does work and has the original key still with the casket which is also rather rare. A word about condition. Those of you who have.
