Absolutely stunning antique jewelry/trinket box. Heavy detailed hand carved lid & sides. The attention to detail is incredible. Casket style dome lid. Every square inch of lid & sides of box is hand carved to perfection. The lid & bottom portion of box is all one piece of wood. Photos do not do this piece justice. Box is made of a hard wood…. Im unsure who the maker is. I couldnt find any signatures. One of the finest samples Ive seen. The carved lid is out of this world. I still dont know how they do it. Box is in excellent condition for its age. Lid opens/closes as it should. Looks to have one old chip to back right edge of bottom piece (seen in last photo). There is some type of residue to inside bottom portion of lid (photo 11). Front right corner of bottom portion one petal missing (photo 10) For the box to be in the remarkable condition its in I would think it wasnt used & just displayed. Measures 41/2 by 47/8 & 2 tall to top of carved lid. There is a good chance we can settle any issues you may have.
