Vintage Veneered Thuya Burr & Tulipwood Lipped Cufflink / Jewellery Box. Dimension:- 9 1/4 x 4 x 2 3/4 (237mm x 102mm x 65mm). A vintage box that probably dates to the 40’s or 50’s. Well constructed in solid Sapele & Sycamore; then veneered in Thuya Burr with a Tulipwood edging applied. Good quality with solid brass piano hinge; the lid conveniently stays open at. Re-French polished to a high shine bringing the most out of the beautifully veneer. Originally, probably a cigarette box; now lined in Black velvet and converted for use as a cufflink / Jewellery box. Internally divided into 10 equal compartments with Mahogany dividers , lined in quality black cotton velvet on the lid and base with a textured black paper on the sides, black baize covers the underside to prevent scratching surfaces.
